Disney needed to rethink their portfolio of products and get their platforms off of Flash. This prompted the need for a new content management system and a complete redesign, new business strategy, and site architecture. I led the design team to create a unified Disney.com site that leveraged tent pole movies and franchises to prop up smaller properties and business unit budgets to amplify all together.

The Oprah Winfrey Show had announced the end of its run, but Harpo properties had grown well beyond the single show. I led the development of a new site strategy, information architecture, and redesign to meet the needs of multiple business units and content categories, helping Oprah.com become a platform for the future, beyond the show.

Mark Sloan is one of the best creative directors l’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Mark is a hands-on CD, because he’s in the details, he understands the whole problem. Mark consistently brings ingenuity coupled with context. It is a powerful combination.

Norville Parchment

Intel, Experience Design Team Lead

I had the good fortune of working on Mark’s team for the past four years. In that time, I learned so much from him:

– He demonstrated how to define clear goals and then align the team’s efforts to achieve them.
– He modeled the power of asking insightful questions at the right time.
– He emphasized the importance of gathering input from all team members – not only to give everyone a voice, but to tackle problems from every angle.
– He constantly challenged us to recognize our own blindspots and adapt accordingly.

Mark thinks both strategically and tactically, leveraging diverse insights to craft holistic, impactful solutions. His contributions always exceeded the sum of their parts. I’m confident he will bring this same vision, dedication, and inspirational leadership to the next team fortunate enough to work with him!

His background of UX, design, research, and information architecture provides Mark with a unique set of tools to accomplish anything as a creative director. He provides multifaceted thoughtful design approaches while incorporating architectural considerations.

Mark also has impressive leadership skills. He encourages everyone on the team to challenge themselves, while giving them any support needed to accomplish their goals. He provides his design team with the leeway to come up with design solutions, and is able to add to and enhance those ideas with his team before presenting to the client.

Our clients always depend and count on Mark to provide insight and recommendations that will lead their product and company to success. He genuinely loves learning about technology and is constantly sharing the latest updates with the team and client.
